Story Summary

"I didn't eat at the eve festival."

Satan seeks out MC while they are resting in their room before Hyakki Yako; the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons. After being let inside, Satan talks to them about the events happening the following day. He reveals uncertainty surrounding how his brothers will act during the festival, choosing to believe that the experience will be exhausting. After the conversation shifts, the noise outside being the cause, Satan asks MC to join him for a trip into town.

"How was the catgirl costume?"

Satan meets MC in the hallway, and it is revealed that Satan's chosen yokai costume is a nekomata, the two-tailed cat yokai. When the coast is clear, Satan and MC slip out of the hotel and onto the busy streets. Satan comments on how crowded the streets are compared to earlier that day, and reveals that there will be twice as many people the next day. It isn't safe for the two of them to get separated, so Satan tells MC to stay as close to him as possible during their date. Spotting a book-themed cafe in the distance, Satan asks MC if they would like to visit the establishment, to which MC agrees. Immediately after, MC trips, and Satan quickly catches them before they can injure themselves. Once MC is back on their feet, the two of them head towards the cafe.

"Old paper scent relaxes me."

After arriving at the cafe, Satan gushes about how nothing beats the smell of old books and caged clot matcha; he also comments on how good MC's chosen dessert looks. While MC enjoys their dessert, Satan narrows down his book stack to ten books he would like to read while he is there. Settling down, Satan begins reading, and accidentally ignores MC in the process. When MC speaks up, Satan apologizes for getting absorbed into his reading, so he offers to read the book with MC. The story is about a greedy cat that lived in a small village, and as it got greedier, the cat grew in size. After the bakeneko became positively enormous, it was slain as punishment for its evil deeds. Satan becomes upset at this ending to the story, because no harm should come to cats, even cat monsters.

"Perhaps I'll read something old."

Finally, back outside, Satan mentions how the books there are for sale, and he would like to buy the books he wasn't able to read during their date. While Satan and MC talk about Satan's books, he notices a small booth that is selling "cat stuff." Each item at the booth is cat themed, and Satan takes some time to look through the various items. He then suggests that he and MC get a matching souvenir. Afterwards, they spend some extra time together that evening, just the two of them, with no interruptions from Satan's brothers.
