Story Summary

This story takes place in an alternate universe. MC found a calling card signed from "Phantom Thief M" yesterday so they brought it to Satan's detective agency. Satan assures MC that it's real and introduces them to his partner Polo. Once Polo has smelled someone, he never forgets the scent, so Satan demonstrates how Polo sniffs the card and then immediately identifies the photo of Phantom Thief M. Satan then asks MC if they know what treasure the calling card is referring to, but they do not. Satan explains that since they don't have a lot of time, he would like their help with the investigation and asks them to take him to their house.

In MC's home, Detective Satan asks them again what items they have that could be considered a treasure, but the items they show him don't seem like something a phantom thief would want. Satan takes a look around by himself, but by nightfall, they still cannot identify the target. So Satan tells MC that they'll focus on capturing the thief instead and shows Polo the calling card so he can find Phantom Thief M. However, Polo just takes them to the park so he can lie on the grass. Satan decides that Polo just isn't in the mood to help and tells MC they should go back to the house.

At the house, Detective Satan plays with Polo and he says that Polo seems to like MC. As Satan continues to play with Polo, Polo gets too excited and knocks over a vase. Satan saves MC from getting injured and checks on Polo as well. Luckily no one got hurt and Satan says they will compensate MC for the broken vase. Just then, the lights go out which means Phantom Thief M might be close by. In the dark, Satan wants MC to be close to him so they can share his flashlight. While trying to find them, he apologizes for brushing against their shoulder, but MC doesn't mind.
Then Satan leaves MC alone with Polo while he goes to the kitchen to check on the breaker. While Satan is gone, Phantom Thief M announces himself.

Phantom Thief Mammon tells MC that the detective didn't find their treasure because they were hiding it under their clothes, referring to a piece of jewelry they're wearing. The lights turn back on, so Mammon attempts to take the treasure but Satan shows up before he can. Satan protects MC and Mammon is unimpressed by Satan's presence. However, Satan claims that he will catch him this time. MC manages to distract Mammon and they run to another room. Mammon catches up to them, but Satan explains that it doesn't matter if they're trapped and Mammon notices that the cops have arrived. Mammon flees the scene and Satan tells MC that he's glad they're safe. MC can thank Satan with a kiss and he says that in the short time they've spent together, he's fallen in love and asks them to stay by his side. If they hug him, he invites them out for dinner to celebrate their success.
