Luke
"A representative of the Celestial Realm. Has been given the nickname Chihuahua by Lucifer and is often teased."
— Luke's Student ID
Luke is an angel whose first appearance in Obey Me!'s Main Story was in Lesson 2-13. Both he and Simeon were chosen to be the Celestial Realm's first exchange students at RAD. While he is considered a side character in Obey Me!, Luke was added to the game's Intimacy system in December of 2020 as part of the Happy Devil Day celebration.
Appearance[edit]
Luke has short, layered light blond hair with bangs, and has pale skin. His eyes are a gradient of celtic blue and pastel yellow, with a ring of baby blue around his pupils. He has the childlike appearance of a ten-year-old, although it is alluded to in Lesson 7-10 that he is over a thousand years old. In the chat When the Moment Comes, Luke states that he can fly, implying that he may have a form with wings.
As seen in the official height chart, Luke is the shortest of the side characters, and is also shorter than all the main characters.
Angel Look
Like Simeon and Raphael, instead of wearing the standard RAD Uniform, Luke wears his Celestial Realm clothes. The outfit consists of a white, long-sleeved shirt with a gold-bordered collar and gold cufflinks, over which is a white, layered wrap-around capelet with gold trim and accents, and in the lower center of the back has a navy blue diamond bordered in gold. The front also has two rows of five gold, four-pointed star embellishments. Wrapped around Luke's neck is a navy blue and gold cravat. At the cravat's center is a gold accessory with a shape similar to a dragonfly.
Luke wears a pair of white shorts with gold accents on the cuffs, knee-high white socks, and a pair of white boots with navy blue lining. The boots have gold soles, and each have a vertical gold stripe along one side, bordered by five gold, four-pointed star embellishments. He also wears a white beret that has both a horizontal and vertical band of gold that overlap each other on the hat's left side. Dangling also on the hat's left side is a gold accessory shaped like two connected diamonds.
Worn in a similar fashion to a tippet or stole, Luke has two scarf-like accessories that drape down from his shoulders, and are longer behind than in front. Their colors are a gradient navy blue, sky blue, and white, and are patterned with gold, four-pointed stars. The scarves are also bordered in gold, and each have gold tassels on both ends.Like Simeon and Raphael, instead of wearing the standard RAD Uniform, Luke wears his Celestial Realm clothes. Luke was first seen in his Human World look in Lesson 43-10 of the Main Story. The outfit consists of two layered sweaters; the first is a diamond-patterned deep purple, goldenrod yellow, and white sweater with a peach-colored collar and hem, over which is an oversized baby blue sweater with two white buttons left undone on the right side of the center front.
His pants are navy blue with accented white seams and light grey cuffs. His socks are white, and his Venetian-style loafers are fawn-colored with coffee brown soles. As with his Angel Look, Luke also wears a beret that is primarily navy blue with a raspberry red and white horizontal stripe each bordering the lower half. The beret was chosen for him by Simeon — as mentioned in Issue 8 of the RAD Newspaper — and Luke then chose the rest of his outfit to match said beret.

Luke is very boisterous and opinionated, especially when it comes to things he dislikes. Due to his small physique and reactive outbursts, he is likened to a Chihuahua by the brothers, Diavolo, and even MC (if the player has chosen so), much to his dismay.
He's quite prejudiced against demons and warned MC to never trust them. Although Luke's narrow-minded, Simeon has stated that he's honest, genuine, and has a strict set of values. Luke is overall a very caring person who has a big heart and cherishes his friends, but he acts tough on the outside and dislikes it when people depict him that way.
In the chat Luke's Good Deed, it is implied that Luke cannot swim. Despite this, he jumped in the lake in attempt to save Serun from drowning. This exemplifies how Luke has an impulse to protect others even if he may get hurt in the process.

Powers and Abilities[edit]
As an angel, Luke has the ability to put people's minds at ease.
Angels also possess an ability known as an "angelic blessing", which have protective powers. In the chat To Mt. Imminent Death 8, Simeon mentions that Luke's blessings are particularly potent.
Story[edit]
Background[edit]
Luke is likely the youngest character, according to Issue 3 of the RAD Newspaper. If MC chose to ask about Luke in Lesson 44-10, the brothers — who were still angels at that time — didn't recognize that name. This implies that Luke was "born" well after all seven of the brothers were already in existence.
He was unaware of Lilith's existence, for he knew Lucifer to have only six brothers.
Obey Me!'s Main Story[edit]
Lessons 1-20[edit]
When first introduced, the day after MC makes a pact with Mammon, Luke is immediately teased by Diavolo and Lucifer for his size, being called a chihuahua. He is introduced as a young angel from the Celestial Realm and as one of the two exchange students from that realm.
After everyone except MC leaves for class he ominously warns them to "never trust a demon. Especially when that demon is Lucifer.". He continues, saying Lucifer is a monster, a brute, uncivilized, immoral, and the most sadistic of sadists. He goes on to tell them he was against the idea of bringing humans to the Devildom and the whole exchange program.
Luke tags along with Simeon as he interrupts an argument between Mammon and Beelzebub in lesson 4-17 to invite them, as well as MC, to a camping trip. Luke is mostly silent until Mammon picks on him calling him "Fido" and a chihuahua, much to Luke's protest. When Simeon leaves to take a phone call Luke follows shortly after more teasing from Mammon. MC is reminded, via a flashback, of Luke's warning about demons.
Sometime later, Luke sends a text to MC to meet them outside of the House of Lamentation where he asks them to secretly let them stay in their room for the night. Once inside he learns that MC is currently forced to stay in Beelzebub's room due to a wall in their room being destroyed. He seems unhappy about the idea of staying in a demons room but after Beelzebub shows him some kindness, and due to having nowhere where else to turn, he agrees.
When asked about why he needs somewhere to stay for the night Luke tells MC and Beelzebub that he had stormed out after feeling slighted that Simeon seemed to care more about demons than him. He was very unhappy with how friendly Simeon was being with the demons, such as visiting Diavolo for tea, and felt that he was too worried about being friends with demons that he wouldn't notice or care if he disappeared.
Despite his often vocal dislike of demons, he was known to often be in the company of Barbatos, who was teaching him how to make sweets and desserts. As he mentioned in Lesson 5-12, Luke has been learning how to bake cakes and pastries for about 300 years. This is because Michael loves all kinds of sweet things, and Luke wants to present him with a cake.
The next day, after MC and Beelzebub suspiciously brought food back to their room for Luke, he tells MC about how Lucifer and his brothers, except Satan, used to be angels. He tells them to keep it a secret that back then he admired Lucifer, even more than Michael.
Beelzebub interrupts the conversation when he comes in to tell them that Lucifer is coming up for a "surprise inspection". Beel tells Luke to hide in the closet, though he doesn't sound optimistic about their chances of hiding anything from Lucifer, going so far as to tell a story of a witch Asmodeus brought home who even after transforming into a spider was found during an inspection. Somehow, when the closet is checked Luke is no longer there. However, when the closet is checked Luke is no longer there.
The next day, Luke is discovered by Lucifer and Mammon in the underground tomb while holding the grimoire kept down there. He tries to put on a brave face in front of Lucifer who has transformed into his demon form and seems poised to attack. When his anger is instead pointed at Beelzebub, MC steps in between them and Lucifer. Even after he demands they choose between Luke and Beelzebub, they refuse to choose or move.
In a scene not shown, Diavolo stops Lucifer from attacking MC, and Simeon arrives to take Luke back to Purgatory Hall after being shaken by the experience.
During the exchange party at the Demon Lord's Castle, Luke is assigned to a room with Beelzebub and Leviathan. Luke excitedly greets MC when he first arrives at the castle and apologizes for the situation they were in the last time they saw each other. After taking their belongings to their assigned rooms, everyone meets back in the main room and Luke seems much less cheery after spending time with his roommates.
During the castle tour, Luke comments that the last time he saw the Demon King was at a ceremony over a thousand years ago. Further into the tour, a talking painting interrupts. It turns out to be an ex-girlfriend of Asmodeus. After a fight between them, she pulls Mammon, Leviathan, Beelzebub, Solomon, Asmodeus and MC into the painting. Luke and the rest of the members of the group continue the tour. When the missing party returns Simeon and Luke express their sympathy to Solomon for being dragged into that mess, but he tells them he actually had fun down there.
During the scavenger hunt on the second day of the retreat, Luke calls out in surprise when Asmodeus charms a statue that him and his team are attempting to photograph.

Lessons 41-60[edit]
Starting in Lesson 41, he and Simeon spent time living in the Human World and running a café called The Angel's Halo. Simeon mentioned in Lesson 61-16 Hard that he has an apartment in the Human World that he — and presumably Luke — live in during this time.
Luke explains in Lesson 43-12 that as of that point, he doesn't yet have a rank that all angels are eventually given, as he's still finding out what he's good at.

While Luke initially was very prejudiced against demons, this changes the longer he stays in the Devildom. Beelzebub is the first demon that Luke befriends. Their eventual friendship began in Lesson 5 when Beelzebub allowed Luke to say in his room while he was having an argument with Simeon, which he did simply because Luke gave him a cake once.
Even though Luke commented that Beelzebub would make the "worst food reporter ever," and staying in Beel's room ended with Luke being nearly attacked by Lucifer, afterwards, Luke begins texting with Beelzebub fairly often. However, as in the chat An Unusual Friendship, when asked about being friendly towards Beelzebub, Luke will only deny it.

Obey Me![edit]
As the first two angel exchange students, Luke and Simeon are quite close and often seen together. Luke often goes to Simeon for advice, or tries to teach Simeon how to properly use technology. It often frustrates Luke how kind and tolerant Simeon is to the various demons of the Devildom, something that remains true even after his initial staunch dislike of anything demonic has faded.
While Simeon may behave as Luke's guardian, the younger angel is still very protective of Simeon. He told MC in Lesson 43-16 Hard that he thinks of Simeon as an older brother, but that he also can be reckless and too kind to everyone, so Luke feels the need to stay by him to keep him out of trouble.

Because Michael has such strong faith in Luke, Luke has grown extremely attached to Michael, even to the point of idolizing him. He becomes extremely upset when others talk badly about Michael and always keeps Michael's interests in mind. He told MC in Lesson 5-12 that he wanted to work on his baking skills so that he could present Michael with a cake.

Etymology[edit]
- While there are many "Luke"s in the Christian religion, it's possible Luke's name comes from Luke the Evangelist.
- The "Gospel of Luke" also mentions a man named Simeon.
