Editing Guidelines[edit]
Adding Spoilers[edit]
Spoiler content is only allowed in specific pages and locations. See the Spoiler Guidelines page for information on what is considered a spoiler, and where and how spoilers can be added.
Using Templates[edit]
Here are some of the available templates used to structure articles. Click on the link to see how to use each template.
Manual of Style[edit]
Capitalization[edit]
All card pages should have capitalization that exactly matches the card's title in the game itself.
All other page titles, images, videos, etc. should be named using Title Case.
Links[edit]
Any terms that have an associated wiki link should only be made links the first time a term appears in a page's section.
For example, Lucifer should only be a linked term once per story section in a Devilgram, once per Lesson in either game's Lesson Summaries, etc.
For more information on how to code a wiki link, see MediaWiki's Help:Links page.
Spelling[edit]
For the sake of consistency, and to match the same English format used in the games, please use American English when writing or editing articles on The Obey Me Wiki.
Grammatical Tense[edit]
Story summaries for Obey Me!'s Main Story, Nightbringer's Main Story, Devilgrams, or Pop Quiz events should be written in present tense.
Everywhere else on the wiki, references to events that happened in any of the above stories should be written in past tense.
Sources[edit]
When adding any information to articles on the wiki, be sure to always reference the source, be it Lesson, Chat, Devilgram, etc. If you have information that the wiki is missing, but don't remember the source, be sure to add {{No Source}}
at the end of the unsourced sentence you write.
To differentiate between lessons in Obey Me! and lessons in Nightbringer, please add either (OM) or (NB) respectively to the end of referenced lesson numbers. As explained in the Manual of Style's Links section, both (OM) and (NB) should be written as a link the first time they are used in a section.
Examples[edit]
- As mentioned by Belphegor in Lesson 37-1 (OM), Lucifer is prone to having headaches, which he frequently blames on having to deal with his brothers' antics.
- In the chat Ticket Stubs 1, Lucifer claimed that he does not hold onto his ticket stubs after an event.
Main Character References[edit]
The Main Character should be referred to as "MC" in nearly all cases. Please do not use "I," "you," or "the player" when referring to MC, and keep in mind that MC uses they/them pronouns.
