Somber Ball

As seen in the Pop Quiz Love and Sports: The RAD Tournament, There are a total of eight Somber Balls. They are magic, glittery balls that are considered Devildom relics. According to legend, if all of the somber balls are gathered together, anyone who is able to make these balls ring by shaking them will have a wish granted.
There is at least one known somber ball locator, which looks similar to a D.D.D.. Tapping the device's screen shows a map of the Devildom with glowing sports where somber balls are located. Barbatos mentioned that the last time the somber balls were seen was several hundreds of years ago, and presumably they have been around for several thousands of years.
When playing sports with these somber balls, the more the ball can sense an "appreciation towards one's teammates," the stronger the somber ball will get. Uncooperative teams will also be penalized with a weakened ball. The somber balls are also known to suddenly turn into bombs, though their countdown will pause if they are being used in a game.
According to the Devilgram Somber Balls Strike Back, the somber balls originate from their own world separate from the Devildom. They are able to conjure semi-corporeal forms that look like black fog, which are capable of playing sports.
The somber balls are able to change their size at will, as seen in the Devilgram 24 Hours Together!. Records exist of an extremely rare kind of somber ball with the habit of sucking people inside it. The inside of this somber ball is its own dimension, which is larger than it appears from the outside. According to the same Devilgram, accidents caused by playing with a somber ball can often be reversed by using it again in the same game.

When the balls suddenly turned into bombs, everyone had to try and find a way to stop them from exploding. While researching, several books were found to have information about the somber balls. The balls are referred to with many different names, though included descriptions and images always match up. According to these books, the somber balls draw their energy from the person who invoked them. Barbatos also discovered that the balls were originally intended to be "magical tools used to convey messages of love."
One of the books had a record of a previous explosion of the somber balls, which would have been on a scale large enough to blow away RAD's entire campus. The book also said an "explosion of emotion" can override the somber balls detonation protocol. Another, newer book stated that "you have to both pour your heart out and play like your life depended on it" to permanently stop the countdown.
Ultimately, the eight somber balls were launched into the sky and exploded, showering the Devildom with over a hundred miniature versions of all shapes and sizes.
