The Sorcerers' Society was first mentioned by Solomon in Lesson 45-1 (OM), and first alluded to in Lesson 42-12 (OM). The society has their own headquarters, and grants licenses to those looking to become official sorcerers.
Overview[edit]
According to Solomon, the Sorcerers' Society is an organization that "provides assistance to all of the sorcerers secretly living in the Human World." Solomon also mentioned in Lesson 54-18 (OM) that there are "very few sorcerers out there," and that they are a small community that tries to keep their existence secret from the public. Presumably, the Sorcerers' Society's rules and regulations are aimed towards that goal of secrecy.
The society's crest is made up of three staves and seven stars. Solomon explained in Lesson 45-4 (OM) that the three staves represent the Three Magi said to have invented the magical arts, and that the seven stars represent the "seven virtues" a sorcerer must never forget.
Licenses[edit]
The Sorcerers' Society provides several different licenses depending on the training and experience of the sorcerer, as mentioned in Lesson 42-12 (OM). First, a provisional license must be obtained. Then one can try for a full license, and be considered a full-fledged sorcerer.
To obtain a full sorcerer's license, one must earn each of the seven stars in the society's crest by passing seven trials. Solomon also explained in Lesson 45-4 (OM) that it has been traditional for generations that an apprentice's first star is received from their master.
Story[edit]
Main Story and Events[edit]
Solomon brought MC, Lucifer, and Beelzebub to the Sorcerers' Society Headquarters in Lesson 45-1 (OM) to get MC a provisional license. Solomon initially expressed a negative opinion of the place, and told MC he's not on the best of terms with the society. He then admitted that he and his most talented apprentice at the time actually founded the Sorcerers' Society long ago, but later "ended up having a difference of opinion." This incident apparently involved having one of the largest dragons in existence at the time being summoned against Solomon, who said in Lesson 45-4 (OM) that he was "nearly burned alive."
