"I want to eat an apple pie..."
MC meets Diavolo at the Demon Lord's Castle. He has invited them to pick apples together in the forest behind the castle and tells MC that Barbatos will bake them a pie afterward.

"That's way too dangerous!"
When they get to the forest, Diavolo tells MC that Barbatos hasn't made an apple pie in ages and that he's excited about this one. Diavolo also tells MC that he played in the forest all the time when he was a child. Specifically, Diavolo played a game called imp's tail, which is a game where the players try to steal each other's "tails" which are usually handkerchiefs tucked into their back pocket. Whoever collects the most tails is the winner. Diavolo mentions that his father put an enchantment on the forest that causes something troublesome to make an appearance now and then to prevent Diavolo from becoming bored. Diavolo takes MC deeper into the forest and shows them a stone statue that guards the apple tree. To get past, one must answer a question correctly because if they get the answer wrong, they will die.

"These are all difficult ques..."
Diavolo explains that the statue was designed as part of his education since he's the heir to the throne and assures MC that the questions shouldn't be too difficult. Diavolo correctly answers the first two questions, but the third question is "What does a human rely on, above all else?" and Diavolo doesn't know the answer. MC can either answer their sense of discipline or sense of discovery, both of which are accepted as the correct answer. The fourth question asks what the Devildom needs most and Diavolo notes that this question is also new to him. He asks MC what they think the answer is and MC can either say a new vision or continued peace and prosperity. Their final question is "What are you most in need of right now?" and Diavolo answers that they need seven apples which causes the statue to let them in.

"How so very nostalgic."
Diavolo shows MC the apple tree and as they pick apples, he tells them about why he chose to plant the tree in the first place. In a flashback, Diavolo had just had a meeting with the angel Lucifer and told Barbatos that he learned that the Celestial Realm has golden apples and that he wants to start an orchard of his own so he can show Lucifer what kind of apples the Devildom has. Barbatos recommended Diavolo plant a tree in the forest behind the castle, so they did just that. In the present, Diavolo tells MC that even though his apples aren't golden, he still thinks they're more striking. He notices one of the apples is glowing and tells MC that it reminds him of them, an omen of change. Diavolo tells MC that he would like to get to know them better, but first, they have to bring the apples to Barbatos.
