"A perfect character for Luke."
Set in an alternate universe, Luke expresses guilt for requesting the hero of the village - who is MC - to carry most of his groceries through town. Luke explains that he's the only provider for the town's healing potions. Due to this reason, Luke remorsefully declines MC's invitation to join their adventure team. He further reasons that he dislikes the thought of leaving the townspeople to fend against illnesses by themselves while he would be out adventuring, and he discreetly mentions preferring to avoid a certain individual. However, MC is determined, and tells Luke that he is the only person they would ever consider asking. Luke feels overjoyed by their response and assures MC that he'll offer batches of potions as his substitute. The duo return to Luke's workshop where they both prepare for rush hour.

"Solomon doesn't look out of place."
Luke sighs in relief as both he and MC manage to clear the crowd of customers during rush hour. Luke exclaims MC's excellent customer service skills and envisions MC staying in the town helping the locals, though he quickly apologies after as he declined MC's previous invitation. Solomon unexpectedly strides into the shop - to Luke's dismay - and comments that Luke should be honing his magic instead of joining MC's adventuring party. Luke promptly refuses his invitation - as he had done multiple times before - yet the sorcerer was persistent and threatened to use force if necessary. MC can either wield their sword or cast a barrier to which Solomon will either applaud MC's effort to stand against him or dispel MC's barrier while acknowledging their skill. As a final act of opposition, Solomon casts a curse on MC.

"Adversities up your team skill stats!"
Solomon quickly departs from the shop while Luke rushes to MC's side. Strangely, MC senses no side effects except for a mark on their chest from Solomon's curse. Luke recognizes the mark as a "cursed seal" that shouldn't be left alone. While MC attempts to brush off the dangers of the curse, Luke persists that curses shouldn't be underestimated. He explains that usually, an incantation is used to break a curse, though similar effects can be achieved through using potions. He reiterates that their main goal should be to create a potion that can dispel the curse as he fetches the required ingredients. Luke requests MC to place their hands over the cauldron as his stirs to imbue their natural magical energy and therefore increase the potion's potency. After some words of encouragement, Luke finishes the potion and MC downs it. Luke becomes relieved as the seal vanishes; which only had a fifty percent chance of succeeding. With a change of mind, Luke decides to accept MC's invitation from before, but with one condition.

Luke and MC meet Solomon in a flower field for a duel. Solomon notes the strength of Luke's potions that broke the curse previously cast on MC, and insists on Luke joining him. Luke rejects his offer for the final time and decides to defeat Solomon before adventuring with MC. The showdown begins with Luke's change in appearance - where Solomon states only highly skilled sages can perform - while MC can either request more defensive or offensive spells from Luke. Depending on the option chosen will Luke either provide healing spells to aid MC or conjure a summon that will overwhelm Solomon. Before the last blow is dealt, Solomon yields and proposes a deal for him to join their party. He admires the teamwork between Luke and MC, and lists benefits of partnering with a sorcerer before MC allows him to join. Luke remains stunned by the fact that Solomon is his new party member.
