Barbatos is with MC in the storehouse of the Demon Lord's Castle, and mentions that cleaning up the whole area will take more time. He finds an old map of the Devildom from before he met Diavolo. MC has the option to ask if the boundaries changed, or for Barbatos to tell them more about it later. Barbatos and MC then go to Barbatos's room where he asks MC to go to the past with him. Barbatos mentions that Diavolo thought it would help MC.

"I'm also interested in the past."
Barbatos and MC travel to the past. Barbatos said he came here before he met Diavolo and before the House of Lamentation was built. The two look around, and Barbatos mentions bloodgrass which is now extinct, but was often used in baking. Barbatos wants to go get some for MC to try and they can respond positively. Bloodgrass is bright red, so it is easy to find. MC finds some. Barbatos praises them and then gathers the grass. MC can then comment on bloodgrass's value and how it is in a dessert, or how they wish Diavolo had some. Barbatos responds accordingly, and then tells a story about how he was tasked to gather some for a chef that was baking a cake to be presented to Diavolo. Barbatos says those days of not having obligations were nice, but it felt like he was missing something.

Barbatos mentions that in a nearby timeline there are (now extinct) floating nuts that pair well with the bloodgrass. MC can ask if they are traveling in time again. The pair travel again to a time where Barbatos just met Diavolo. They came here in the past for the same reason. Floating nuts float up when they are ripe. The pair find some, and begin to harvest. MC can ask if they are used for anything else, or if Barbatos harvested nuts with Diavolo before. Barbatos says they can be used to make nut butter or cream sandwiches which Diavolo really enjoyed. Regardless, he tells MC to hide since Diavolo is walking around. Barbatos says he frequented this area for animal observation and gathering supplies. It begins to rain, so Diavolo and the pair leave.

"The past forms the present."
Barbatos and MC hide in a cave. Barbatos says that seeing Diavolo brought back memories. MC can ask if he wants to go on another adventure, or stay in the past. Regardless, he wants to stay in the present, either because of MC or to not be alone. MC can comment on how the present is best and Barbatos says the past leads them to the present. MC can also say they can't imagine life without him, and Barbatos asks MC to kiss him. If they do, Barbatos says he wishes he could extend their time together. Barbatos thanks MC for traveling with him. Barbatos brings MC back to the present, and says the time he spends with them and Diavolo means the most to him. Barbatos can say he belongs at the Demon Lord's Castle, or he enjoys the present because of MC. Then they decide to bake something.
