About the Game[edit]
Nightbringer is a sequel game to the original Obey Me!, in that the Main Character (aka "MC") — the protagonist that players experience the game through — is the same individual from the original Obey Me! storyline. While playing the original game and knowing the plot of the Main Story from said game does enhance the story experience of Nightbringer, new players are also able to pick up the game without having played the original.
The story of Nightbringer begins with MC receiving a mysterious text from an unknown person, who then transports them to the Devildom, and to a time in the past just after the Great Celestial War. At this time, the seven brothers have only recently fallen from the Celestial Realm, and the world of demons is an unstable, dangerous place for humans. Because of this, MC has little choice but to tell everyone they are a fellow demon: a difficult lie to maintain around a distrusting Lucifer. While neither he nor his brothers remember MC, they will be the key to helping MC return to their present timeline.
Like the original Obey Me! game, Nightbringer has an interface setup similar to a smartphone. This includes the ability for players to interact with the characters in many ways, such as receiving chats and fully voiced phone calls! Clearing battle stages in Ruri★Tunes using collectible cards from Nightmares and other Events allows players to progress through the game's Main Story, which includes 60 lessons in total.

Pre-Release Story Hints[edit]
Before Nightbringer's release, many hints about the game's plot given within the "Obey Me! Meet and Greet 2023" steam:
- "Takes place after the Great Celestial War."
- Specifically, the story is set "in a post-Great Celestial War Devildom" according to this official tweet.
- "Satan and his brothers."
- "Solomon and the attic."
More story hints were also given from the game's official twitter account. One is given in this official tweet on February 9, 2023 with the question: "What do you think life was like before the brothers became the Seven Rulers?" This implies that the Nightbringer storyline will provide an answer to this question.
Another story hint from this official tweet on February 15, 2023 is that "Nightbringer will shed light on the 'true feelings' the brothers push down."
On February 19, 2023, this official tweet gave the story hint that "Leviathan meets his first best friend thanks to an unexpected person." A later tweet on March 7, 2023 confirms that this refers to Leviathan's pet, Henry 1.0.
