Following the Dust Storm Panic Pop Quiz, MC greets Barbatos before entering his room. Barbatos asks to share his worries with them, and clarifies that RAD intends to reorganize another cross-country race, with Barbatos taking part in the competition. MC will wholeheartedly encourage Barbatos to participate in the race, which Barbatos doesn't refuse, but he adds that the newspaper club plans to film his preparations and interview Barbatos before and during the competition. MC can then suggest themselves to be Barbatos's personal cinematographer, or ask for a compromise, to which Barbatos eventually agrees to both options. Barbatos decides to inform the newspaper club himself of their agreement, and tells MC that he looks forward to working with them in the near future.

"What's up with that training?!"
Outside on the Fangol field, Barbatos begins by describing an overview of the entire race. Each racer is intended to traverse a unique route randomized by magic, so Barbatos advises for competitors to prepare for any unpredictable terrain they might encounter. MC can either eagerly jot down Barbatos's words, to which Barbatos compliments their diligence, or interview Barbatos on how he personally prepares for the race.
Barbatos starts by stretching first before asking MC to read what's next on his training regimen, as his schedule changes day-by-day. If MC reads aloud the schedule, then Barbatos will train for the "hundred teacup dash." If MC asks for Barbatos to read the schedule instead, then Barbatos will train by running one hundred marathons while carrying MC. Barbatos notes aloud the rest of his simple, daily schedule, before commenting that he would prefer their time spent together to be kept private and unfilmed.

"Barbatos is fired up."
The next day, Luke, Asmodeus, Satan, Raphael, and Solomon greet Barbatos at the starting line of the RAD cross-country race. They comment about the revival of the marathon and Barbatos participating as a competitor. MC can ask for Barbatos's comment, to which Barbatos humbly replies that he would give the race his all, in honor of the person who has supported him the most throughout his preparations. He dedicates his victory to an unnamed person, and then each racer is given a map of their own randomized route to follow.
MC follows and films Barbatos through the Labyrinth Forest to his difficult encounter with the Raging Shadow Rapids. As they travel across, MC gets caught in a whirlpool, and Barbatos quickly tells MC to say something that "warms their heart" to escape from the whirlpool's clutches. They can either forthrightly admit their love for Barbatos, or ask for Barbatos to speak in their stead. After they overcome the rapids, Barbatos tells them of their last obstacle, the Fire Dragon's Mountain.

MC and Barbatos climb the Fire Dragon's Mountain, where Barbatos tells MC their requirement to retrieve the jewel of the red dragon in order to cross the finish line. The jewel sits atop a stone pedestal covered in flowing lava. Barbatos discovers engravings in ancient dragon writing that instructs him to think of someone who "lights a fire in his heart" which would then render him immune to the lava. Barbatos follows the directions and successfully retrieves the jewel. If MC guesses who Barbatos was thinking of, he will decide to tell MC after they cross the finish line.
Barbatos is greeted with a celebratory narration when he finishes in first place. MC can ask for Barbatos's post-race commentary, to which he states his words of gratitude to Diavolo and sportsmanship to the other racers, and then officially dedicates his victory to MC. At a different location, after the entire race is finished, Barbatos quietly admits to MC that it was them who he thought of when he retrieved the jewel.
