"I didn't think that you wer..."
Solomon has invited MC and Barbatos to his room to enlist their help in getting something from Lucifer. Supposedly, Lucifer is in possession of a rare record titled "Serenade of the Mage and the Demon." Solomon wants to either buy or borrow it from him. Barbatos agrees to help Solomon, as he is bound to Solomon by a pact. When MC also agrees to help, Barbatos asks Solomon why he wants the record. Solomon answers that he'd like to witness the "phenomenon" that occurs when the record is played, though he doesn't specify what he means.

"Let me know if there's anyt..."
MC returns to the House of Lamentation to find Lucifer in the dining room. If they ask him about the record, Lucifer responds that it doesn't concern them. MC then decides to visit Satan's room to ask him what he knows. Satan says that he's sure Lucifer has the record in his collection. At RAD the next day, MC meets up with Solomon and tells him what Satan told them. Solomon says that there is an instrumental reproduction in the RAD ballroom, but it doesn't produce the same special phenomenon as the original. He then takes MC to the ballroom so they can listen to that record, and MC is given the option to kiss Solomon. MC can also ask Solomon why he wants the record, in which case Solomon agrees to tell them the reason.

"Everyone has a past."
Solomon tells MC that the record is what inspired him to begin listening to classical music. He also says that when the record is played, the actual notes of the melody appear in the air as the song plays. Adding such special features to a record requires a precise technique, which is why "Serenade of the Mage and the Demon" is so rare. Solomon explains he doesn't want to openly ask Lucifer for the record, as he does not want to be in the debt of a demon. He also does not want to reveal information to Barbatos that would potentially put him at a disadvantage. According to Solomon, a pact with a demon does not mean a friendship, and Barbatos enters the ballroom and agrees that's how pacts should be. Solomon concludes that Barbatos had overheard their conversation, which Barbatos admits that he did.

"It's a good compromise, is..."
Solomon and MC receive a summons from Diavolo to meet in RAD's student council room. When they arrive, they find Diavolo and Lucifer waiting for them. Diavolo explains that he heard they were searching for a record. Diavolo then asks Lucifer if he'd be willing to donate "Serenade of the Mage and the Demon" to RAD. Lucifer reluctantly agrees, much to Solomon's excitement. Later, Solomon and MC return to the dance hall, where Solomon expresses his happiness about being able to listen to the record whenever he wants. As they listen to the record, Solomon spots a fish swimming in the wavy patterns of the musical staff, guessing that it must be the rumored hidden effect. Solomon thanks MC for helping him, and in response, MC may ask Solomon to dance, kiss him, or simply say "You're welcome!"
