Overview[edit]
Cocytus Hall is a large residential building located in the Devildom, and Solomon and MC were given permission by Diavolo to live there in the first lesson of Nightbringer's Main Story. It was first seen in Lesson 1-12 (NB), and Solomon described it as "an extravagant space." The building seems to have Gothic architecture, characterized by its pointed arches and rose window.
In the Phone Call RAD Guidebook: Cocytus Hall (Barbatos), it was mentioned that the building is made of brick. A call from Barbatos involved him informing MC of some of the rules they must follow to be allowed to live in Cocytus Hall. These rules were to keep the place clean and tidy, and to not destroy it. Otherwise, MC may go about their normal routines.
History[edit]
In Lesson 1-9 (NB), Solomon mentioned that Cocytus Hall was his usual living space during his stays in the Devildom.
In Lesson 38-14 (NB), Solomon told MC and the seven brothers that due to the events that had happened in the Underworld surrounding Lucifer's imprisonment, Cocytus Hall had collapsed. This happened because the building was located directly above the spot where Cocytus meets the Devildom. With the building being completely demolished, Diavolo decided in Lesson 38-8 Hard to erect a new building in its place, and this was how Purgatory Hall came into being.

Etymology[edit]
- Cocytus is the lowest layer of the Underworld, which Cocytus Hall is named after.
- In Greek mythology, Cocytus was one of the five rivers surrounding Hades. Specifically, it is the "river of wailing," as the word "cocytus" means "lamentation."
